Delta Bikes Opinion - The 605 V4 is a great choice if you want a bike that is more specifically aimed at off-road riding but need to watch the budget. It uses a mixed drivetrain of a Shimano Deore mech and shifter but with a large range 10 speed SunRace 11-46 cassette. This is a great choice to keep the price down without having to resort to opting for lower quality equivalents like microSHIFT which a number of manufacturers have had to do to keep their prices down. We're personally much happier to see Whyte take this approach and sticking with Shimano/SRAM and SunRace drivetrain components.

The forks get an upgrade to RockShox Judy TK which is a nice touch at this price point and offer a lock-out and rebound.

Similar to our opinion on the 603/604 we have to commend the geometry choice. A lot of other brands are far too conservative with their geometry choices at the lower price points, but the Whyte 600 series are bang-on to start taking off-road riding more seriously. Other details like the tubeless ready rims (be aware a tyre upgrade would be required for full tubeless) and the wide 760mm bars are great touches. Also again, the 180mm front brake rotor is a good little upgrade to enhance stopping power where some manufacturers would skimp and run a 160mm.

BUY THIS BIKE IF - you want to start taking off-road riding seriously and modern geometry and having a 1x drivetrain are important to you.
